This is a picture of a Charabang which was popular in the 20's and 30's. Not a lot of help. " charabanc was a sort of coach, usually open-topped, with rows of bench seats, often used on works outings, trips to the seaside and for groups for visiting places of interest"

Interesting photo, looking at it I would have said the same as Starlight and Kelly.
Imagine having to start it up with one of those starting handles

Nice photograph though.

Hi Kelly, Starlight, and Pauline, thank you so much for the information listed......

At least I have some idea now of what it is used for, and am hoping to try and find out if there are any members of my family in this photograph somewhere...

Writing on the side says I think...

Charles Taylor
36, Grant Road,
Croydon.

registration BY 4074.

I originate from Caterham, a stones throw Croydon, so will try Google to see if anything comes up...

Hope I can find even more information about this...

thanks once again

Hi dottie I tried to read the wording on the vehicle but it was sending my eyes weird It seems strange when you look at old photo's. I felt as if I was being drawn into it.

Good Luck with your research on the photo.
