    Hi PeJay.

I live in the U>S>A but was born and raised in Yorkshire. Have you checked the Honley Cemetery? They have a web site, and a lot of the Mellors are buried there.

Also try Familysearch.org, as they are an excellent resource, and have the IGA and census records. You can also try the Worldconnect site at Rootsweb. Good luck!!

    Sincerely,

    Carol

Hi there carolusa - many thanks for your reply, sorry I have not replied sooner I have been away. I do not know anything at all about the Honley cemetery, is it in Yorkshire? I have checked the family search website, I found him on the 1881 census married with family at Conisborough south Yorkshire. I have checked rootsweb to no avail, but sooner or later I may strike lucky.

    Hi Shan,

many thanks for the info, and I thought I had tried all different ways of spelling Mellor, must admit I never thought of Mellons though, but it is them all right, I now have him on 3 different census enumerations- 1851, aged 2, 1881 and now 1891, it is much appreciated.

    Hi Shan,

thanks a lot for taking the time to look, I really appreciate it, I think he died about 1917? and his wife Emma 1920?, I think their last daughter was a Christiana born dec 1893 - she was one of my husbands grandmothers. I looked really hard on all the census info but couldn't find anything, but I was mainly checking Mellor[s] and Meller[s].if you come across anything on the other census details it would be great if you have the time. do you have them on cd?
