Hi Vhaila,
When approx did Frank and Minnie marry and would it be in Yorkshire? When was Florence born? And finally, are you wishing to trace their ancestry, or their descendents?
Hi Vhaila,
They are all there . Frank, Minnie and three children in 1911still at Wood House brompton.Hutton Buschel. with brother F leaf quite close/
In 1901 Frank,(a sailor) Minnie , Florence 6 and Arthur 3 are at Wood Cottage and with them is fred leaf aged 26 brother.Other Leafs next door.
Close family this was.
In 1881 Frank aged 13 was staying with uncle John Leaf and wife Frances and lot of children at Wood Cottage brompton. His father George was there too but no Emma.
1871 George Leaf a stone mason, wife Emma(nee Brinson) and Frank aged 3 were at Brompton wood Cottage/ and also there were John leaf 59 Frances Leaf 55 Jane 31, dau.
William 29 a stone mason and james 19.
Frank Brinson Leaf married Minnie jane tate in 1893.
I have mislaid 1891 but will find it.
I have pinpointed 'your' Leaf's on census returns and believe Frank was with a second wife in 1911.
First marriage: York, Jul-Sept 1893, Frank Leafe [sic] also indexed Minnie Tate.
Second marriage: Scarborough, Oct- Dec 1906, Frank Brinson Leaf two choices of brides Lily Mansfield and Margaret Ellen Pearson, looking at the 1911 new census returns on A*******
where Frank says he'd been married 4yrs to wife Margaret, I deduce he married Margaret Ellen Pearson.
A probable death for Minnie: Minnie Leaf, Oct-Nov-Dec 1903, Age at Death: 32, Scarborough, 9d/255
Where did you find the details slizzy>
My 1911 on Anc only gave Mr. F Leaf and then 3 males two females(I assumed!! one of the females was Minnie but she must have died and he remarried.
Hi Lola,
It's late and I'm a bit brain dead; tomorrow I'm out for most of the day and out for supper at night On Friday I will pm you to give an explanation of how to find original 1911 returns on A******* That's if no-one else does before Friday, please let me know if they do
Vhaila,
There's lots more which can be found on your ancestry, but as you will have gathered I'm out for most of the day tomorrow, Lola may be on site and other members may help. I'll keep an eye on your thread and if I can add anything I'll be back Friday.
Post any extra info you have and inform us whether you hope to go backwards, forwards or both.
Good luck.
Hi Vhaila,
1881 George Leaf, age 37, Widower, stonemason, (father of Frank). was staying with his parents John Leaf aged 69, a builder, born in Thornton Yorks. and Frances. With them were George's sister Jane Leaf aged 41 and brother William Leaf aged39, a stonemason.
Also there was Frank Leaf aged 13, Fanny 9,Fred 5, Albert 4 and Harry 2. These were all grandchildren ofJohn And Frances, (and were the children of George and Emma(now dead)
I have not yet found death of Emma Leaf.
1891 Frank Leaf now 20(should be 23) a tailor born Brompton is a boarder with Joseph Atkinson aged 25, a tailor, and wife EMMA 25 born Brompton(maybe Frank's sister?) RG12/3711/ folio 98 page 23.
I haven't yet found Frank Brinson Leaf's death.
As Slizzy says ... do you want us to go back or forwards?

Found out how to do the search thank you. Had a fiddle around and discovered the browse thing.
Fred Leaf is there too(Frank's brother) age 36, with wife Alice and two children aged 3 and one
Fred is a tailor too.
