Smile Elizabeth Ann Parnaby dob 1865 Brandsby Yorkshire

Elizabeth was my great grandmother. I have her birth cert (8/11/1865 dob) and it appears she was illegitimate as no father has been listed and her mother is Ann Parnaby of Brandsby. Also on her marriage cert to my great grandfather Robert Watson (1885 Guisborough), no father is listed.

I have struggled to find her or her mother in the 1871 and 1881 census. I believe Ann Parnaby's (dob 1846 Brandsby) parents are Ralph and Elizabeth and I have their census info but no sign of Elizabeth or Ann with them.

Is there any hope of finding out who the father might have been? Can anyone find them in the 1871 and 1881 census? There are other Ann and Elizabeth Ann Parnaby's around that part of Yorkshire, but don't appear to be "mine".
    Any assistance greatly appreciated.

    G,Day Christay,
First things first ....Do you know if Elizabeth was Baptised and if so where and when? Parish Registers sometimes recorded the childs Fathers name of Illegitimate children..You say you have her Birth Certificate dob 8/11/1865 Brandsby Yorkshire . Does it state a residential address? Most woman back in 1865 gave birth at home or depending on their circumstances some might have given birth in the Workhouse..

    Thank you Marion and Elsabels,
The birth cert does not list an address - only Brandsby. Given what you have located Elsabels for a baptism it appears no father has been listed there either. Might be one that will be unsolved. I will follow up on the Brandsby click here link that you provided Elsabels. Again much appreciated to you both.
