Default DESERT RATS

I have recently discovered that my Grandfather was one of the original Desert Rats! I am now trying to gather information on the Rats. I am lucky in that, the Royal Armouries Museum is only a 10 minute drive from me & they have quite abit of information, but I would be extremely grateful for any info that anybody can add.

Hi Waks,
My Father was also a Desert Rat. The stories he would tell me as a young girl would make me laugh. Dad also told me that Rommel the German Commander wasn,t too bad and sometimes wouldn,t bother with the English troops. Other stories not so good and some kept from me. My 2nd Cousin,s Father was also a Desert Rat and if you would like I can contact him to see what I can findout for you?

Marion

ps dont know if I spelt Rommel correctly but you will know who I mean.

Davies from Devon,Cornwall and Westham.Sturgeon from Stanton Suffolk and Islington.Levitt from Fleet Lincolnshire,Cambridgeshire And Islington.Morton from Westham-Moreton from Abingdon Berkshire_Carr from St Giles Oxfordshire.Ackley from ?McClelland From Ireland.Whitehead from Scotland,Ireland and Kent.Prisk from St Hilary Cornwall.Whittlesea from Chatteris and Pidley Cum Fenton.Slater And Plant from Deptford, Bermondsey,And The Cape Of Good Hope.
