Default The Elusive George!

Hi all.
Can anyone help me track down one of my ancestors please?
His name is George Henry Martin, (The Elusive George!). I have tried various methods/sites etc to find anything about him, but keep comming up empty. The infomation I have about him that I'm certain of is sketchy, but is:

1) George Henry Martin.
2) Born abt 1886.
3) On 30/08/1913, he married Rachel Ball, a widow, my G. Grandmother, when he was 27yrs. The wedding was in Tadcaster.
4) In 1913 they lived in Sherburn-in-Elmet, and he was employed as a plate layer on the railways.
5) His father was also called George.
6) George Henry died in Leeds in 1945, age 57, two months after his wife Rachel.

As can be seen, the maths don't add up, so maybe he lied on his marriage cert?

I know he served in WW1, but was it with the Army, Navy or RFC, I don't know. Probability says the Army, but there is a possible conection to the Marines. I can't seem to find any service records for him at all.
Where he came from is also a mystery, hearsay has him as comming from a farming background in Suffolk or Sussex.
There is no-one left living for me to ask in my family, who may have any further infomation, so if anyone can shed any further light on him I would be most grateful.

Pat.
P.S. I do know that at some point in the early 1900's, some "Hanky-Panky" took place between the sheets but no details!
