Default Army discharge - anyone help?

Hi

I found my granddads Army papers online recently. We were always told he'd died (in 1926) as a result of being gassed in the war. Another family story scotched. He joined on 8 Nove 1914 and was discharged 26 Nov 1914 as 'unlikely to become an effecient soldier' the reason given was defective teeth! Just wonder if anyone can throw any light on this. If defective teeth was a reason surely they would have been spotted in the medical?

Could he have been called up later although there are no more records that I could find.
