Thread: Hipwells in South Africa

I'm wondering whether anyone has any information on a Philip Sidney Hipwell, born abt 1873, son of Henry Hipwell and Ann Priscilla Ilott, Cheam, Surrey, England.



I have several BMD and census records for him while he was still in England, but my Gran had an address for him in Capetown, South Africa (this would have been about 1950?) It would be nice to fill in some details on this part of the family.

I found a record of the Estate of PHILIP SYDNEY HIPWELL on the South African Archives site. These records are housed at the Archives in Cape Town, unfortunately as I do not live near there I am unable to get the copies of the papers. The best thing is to get a private researcher to help you. If you like I could give you the name of someone who has helped me in the past at very reasonable rates.
