I am interested in the surnames GAISFORD and GILLESPIE.



GAISFORD emigrated to South Africa in the mid-1800s.

May I suggest you try http://www.national.archsrch.gov.za. Select RSA from the data base as this covers all the provinces. The easiest way to get the information once you have the references is a private researcher. Unfortunately I live too far from the Archives to be able to get the information.
