Thread: Rhyming Story

Each person posts 2 rhyming lines that add to the story.
It does not have to rhyme with the previous post

I'll start:

Two small children young Jemima and little Joe
Sat and watched the Punch and Judy show

Their mother kept watch from a deckchair placed nearby,
Till her eyes grew heavy, and she closed them with a sigh

The show was now over and Jemima and Joe
Saw mum sleeping ........ and decided to go....

So off they went as quiet as they could
And ended up in the enchanted wood..

Moths out by day and monkeys up trees

Flamingos winked pinkly as they passed on their way
And parrots stopped chattering, to wish them ' GoodDay '.

In the distance they saw a lovely old well
In place of the bucket was a shiny brass bell

As it swung in the wind it chimed softly and sweet,
The children drew nearer ,entranced by its beat

When a ladder appeared and they knew they must go
