John Mitchell b c1820

Hello folks,
I'm trying to find the birth and family of John Mitchell, who in 1851 says he was born in Barr and in 1871 from Wigton.
He was a Travelling Draper, who settled in Norwich having married Louise Moore from Lowestoft in 1846.
He lived thereafter in Norwich and died in either 1886 or 1887.
His daughter Agnes married William McQueen, son of Andrew Mcqueen of Penninghame, Wigtownshire.
If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd be much obliged.

John Mitchell is a very common name but this looks like it (from Scotlands People)
Birth 26.12.1820 John Mitchell parents James Mitchell, farmer & Agnes Syminton - Barr, Ayr.
