    Default owen brinklow

does anyone know how to get records of people working on the canals often being away from their local area at census time. many of owen family in this county were canal workers and i think this may be the reason for my missing links, ie father of hannah owen b. appprox 1826 in brinklow , wonder if he missed all the censuses ,

    Hi wiredog,
    Good to see you again.
I expect you've already seen this site London Canal Museum Home Page which has links to further sites.
Local record office is the place to go, Warwickshire, but since you are in Ireland that's not possible. Even though they missed some censuses there would still be the birth/baptism/marriage records. The National Archives should have some online records.
We didn't find Hannah for certain the last time we looked. Maybe time for another search?
Did you ever have the marriage cert for Hannah and Robert Shellard in Brackley Northants 1845? Who did her father turn out to be after all. Was it Joseph?

    Hi wiredog,
Marriage Hannah Owen to Robert Shellard m April/May/June 1845 BRACKLEY Northamptonshire. Gro no. Vol 15 page 285.
If this is your Hannah.... (the one who was a servant aged 20 in the same household as Robert Shellard also aged 20 in 1841 in Foleshill) then the only way to find her father's name will be to purchase a copy of this marriage cert. from the GRO price £9.25.
I have looked through all the research slizzy did for you).
Time for buying that cert..... if that is your Hannah.
