Wecome, first job for you is to get a big piece of paper and write down what you already have, so ....
Start with yourself, then your mum and dad, grandparents, both sides, if you can.
I am sure we can find "fatty" and all his family with a bit more information.
Stay in touch,![]()
Be yourself, everyone else is taken
Hi Roxie,
Where was Howard born? Could it be Aston Wark's?
Hello Roxie,
Can you tell us when & where ( area) your gt grandfather died, it is likely that we maybe able to identify his year of birth from the death records!
Hi Roxie,
I think I've established which registrations are Howard's using the birth and death years provided by you. Do these records belong to him?
Howard W Turner, Aston Wark's, registered Jan 1916, 6d/953, mother's maiden name KINGS.
Death: Howard William Turner, Birmingham, registered Nov 2006, date of birth 24/12/1915

I looked for a Turner/Kings marriage, this one looks promising.

To ensure you trace the correct family it will be necessary to invest in marriage/birth certificates. Birth certificates give father's occupation, MMN and their address, marriage certificates name bride and groom's fathers' and occupations, also witnesses.
All records below, may or may not be your ancestors. You can keep them on file until you have certificates to prove or disprove.
Here's a possible birth for Amy. Amy Beatrice Kings, Jan - Mar 1891, Aston Wark's, 6d/289

There's a few Alfred Turners' which could be your chap. To reliably establish the right one you will need to buy his marriage certificate, once we have a father's name and occupation we should then be able to trace him back.
Certificates can be ordered here at a cost of £9.25. General Register Office (GRO) - Official information on births, marriages and deaths
