    Default Hanna/Cardwell

I sure could use some help with my Hanna/Cardwell Family in Northern Ireland.

From Killyman Parish Registers, County Tyrone

Letitia Cardwell, daughter of Robert and Mary baptised 21st April, 1799.

William Hanna and Letitia Cardwell were married 5th July 1816.

    William Hanna was born 1795-6.

Is there any listing in the Killyman Parish Registers for Williams parents?

I do know that Robert Cardwell married Mary Whiteside in Parish of Ardboe, County Tyrone 2nd January, 1781

Is there an LDS Film that has the Killyman Parish Registers?

Any help with this would be great!

    Thank You,

    Ginny

    Hi Skylark:

Thank you so much for the info on Whiteside Cardwell and Jane Arnold marriage. I did not have this information.

Also, thank you for the listing of Robert Cardwell and Mary Whitesides family. I was only missing a couple of the children for this couple.

Is there any way you can find who William Hanna's parents are in the Killyman Parish Registers?

I sure appreciate your kindness in the help you have already given me!

    Hi Ginny,

My wife has Cardwell ancestors from Annaghmore Townland near Clonoe, which is East of Coalisland.

She has a Henry Cardwell bc 1840, son of Robert Cardwell(farmer) of Annaghmore.Henry Cardwell married Eliza Tipping at Clonoe Church of Ireland 12th Nov 1863, they had at least two children there before moving to Belfast around 1869.

I would be interested to know if you have any link to, or info on this Robert Cardwell and family.

I see you have an interest in Whiteside Cardwell, any probably have a lot of info on him, especially if you google "Whiteside Cardwell" .

I came across a newspaper archive from the Irish News on him from Dec 19th 1927. In it it reports as follows:

    COALISLAND ACCIDENT

While Whiteside Cardwell of Drumconnor, Newmills an employee of Messrs John Stevenson & Company, Coalisland was standing sheets of corrugated iron up against a wall last Saturday, about 15cwt of the sheets fell on him, fracturing one of his legs.

Dr S Girvan, dispensary officer, Coalisland, was promptly on the scene and rendered first aid to the injured man, who was subsequently removed to the Dungannon Hospital.

    Hi Otto,

My link through the Robert Cardwell and Mary Whiteside is through their daughter Letitia Mary Cardwell who married William Hanna. They are my 4th great grandparents. I haven't followed Letitia's brothers and sisters as yet but eventually will add them to my family tree. I am just finding info but it's at a snails pace.

Your wife's Henry Cardwell is brother to my Letitia. I wish I had more information on the family. My GGGGr Grandparents of Hanna left Ireland around 1830 before the Potato Famine and landed in Quebec. One of the daughters was born there before the family eventually moved into Lanark County, South Sherbroke Ontario Canada.

Would you happen to have any photo's of the Cardwell family?

Thank you for the information about Whiteside. I will try the google of his name, something I haven't done as yet!

    Hi Otto:

I am wondering who the Letitia Cardwell is that married Joseph Frizzell. My Letitia baptised April 21, 1799 married William Hanna. Is the Letitia you are referring to a daughter to one of my Letitia's/Henry/Whiteside siblings?

Do you know if any others of the Cardwells left Ireland for Canada or United States?

Thank you for the marriage info.
