Thread: Addis Edward Belsey

Greetings,
I am looking for the parents of Addis Edward Belsey first located on the 1911 Census where he was in the Royal Navy (joined in 1905) as Able Seaman on board the TB Destroyer "OTTER" which was in dock at Kowloon Hong Kong. He gave his birth place as Carrickfergrish, Ireland. I believe this to be a "furfy" as according to his service record he was born in Hastings on the 27th February 1887. In 1912 he bought his discharge from the Navy to become a Chinese Customs Official and that's the last I can find of him. I have found no marriage or death record in the UK and have supposed that he stayed in China.
Any help on this Stray would be appreciated

Hi Lady Marion,
That marriage refers to Edward Harris Belsey (d: 1899 - in your previous message) who married Emma Edith Mansfield on the 25th August 1890 (have marriage certificate) - Extensive research has been made on this family with many name switching going on and people saying who they were not. There was a son Edward John Belsey Christened 6 Sep 1885.
There is a possibility that Addis does belong in this family mainly based on the information that if he was born in 1887 he would fit between Alfred William 1886 and John Robert in 1888.
