Thread Descriptions

When posting your threads please take a moment to think about the title you are going to give to it. The more descriptive you are in the title the better the response will be.

For example, say you were in the Request Help forum as you needed help to find John Smith Born 1865. Posting a new thread entitled "Please Help" or "Help Needed" does not tell anyone, who is browsing the threads, ANY information about what you need help with and this may get your thread missed and unread. Also, when other members are searching the forums at no point will they search for "Help Please" so you could lose out on possible connections.

However, if you gave your new thread the title of "Help Finding John Smith b. 1865" people will then know what you need and help if they can. Also, someone interested in John Smith will search the boards for that name, if you have this as your title then your thread WILL appear in that search.

As you can see thread titles are VERY important. Please take this advise on board.

I wish you continued success in your research.

Kindest regards

Jon
