Looking for any descendants of William & Ellen Whewell. 1901 Census shows them living in Beaufort Street Toxteth Park Liverpool with their daughter Alice (7 months). I believe they went on to have four further children, William, Sarah, Helen & John James. John James was my paternal grandfather and was born on Christmas eve 1904. If anybody has any links to this family or can give me any further information I would be very pleased to hear from them.

Hi Nanna
I have mostly used Ancestry.com & Lancashire BMD when researching this line of my family. I have birth certificate for John James & this gives his mothers maiden name as Ellen Simpson - fathers name William. Although I can find a marriage entry for Ellen Simpson (abt 1878) in 1900, I cannot find a corresponding entry for William(abt 1875). I understand that a lot of Liverpool records have not yet been transcribed (or maybe they weren't married) so I guess I will have to buy the certificate for Ellen's marriage & hope it is the correct one. Am also hoping to go to the Liverpool records office once school term starts & I have a bit more free time! Apologies for delay in replying & thank you for taking the time to reply to my original post Kind Regards |
