I also am interested in the surname VICK. I am trying to learn something about the VICK history in Isle of Man and the roots of VICKs in the UK. I am a descendant of Joseph VICK. He is believed to have been born in England about 1640 and immigrated to Isle of Wight County, Virginia, about 1670. The best researchers in the U.S. feel Joseph may have been from Gloucestershire. Many of the people who immigrated to Isle of Wight County (now called Southampton County) were from that area of England. I am part of a project which is using Y-DNA to trace our VICK ancestry. Our DNA indicates our VICKs may have Viking ancestry, but the tests are not complete. I woud love to talk to anyone who has researched the VICK surname in the UK or further back.

Hi James,
Have only just logged in and seen your message on forum. My maternal G/Grandmother was Mary Jane Vick born in the Isle of Man , to James Vick and Margaret Kewley. If you could bear with me, I will look up the info I have and get back to you by e-mail. Nanna |
