I too am looking for TURNER. George born about 1832, Woolwich, which was in Kent in those times. He was christened at St Mary Magdelane church.
Was in I of W. in 1850's Married Eloise wILLIS 1858 in Portsea. Died in Portsmouth in 1902.

I am to looking for Turners but I am not sure where mine come from as I am looking for the following names: Laurence George Charles Turner born in 1920 and his father George Alfred John Turner but I don't have any information on them.

Can't help you there Tanjat, Have you any idea of the year the dad was born? Unfortunatly the Turners seem to spread over quite a distance in the UK

The names that I hav e mention are of my grandfather and my great grandfather. I never knew my grandfather when I was born when he married my grandmother theycame out to Australia from England to live. So I really don't have any dates or information at all.

Hi Tanja. Try searching Free BMD for a start. I found a Laurence George Charles TURNER, born 1890 in Hackney (now London). Volume 1b Folio 591. He *may* have married an Elsie Larkin 1915. In Islington.

If you know where your grandparents died, (presume in OZ) try to obtain a death cetificate.

Thanks for the idea but I am not sure if I can get a death certiifcate of my grandfather or my dad might have to do it. I know that my grandfather died in South Australia but my great grandfather would have to of died in England as my father came out to Australia in 1963 with his family.

There is a Laurence G Turner born in Isle of Wight Hampshire in 1920, but I can't find a George Alfred . It looks like you will have to get some certificates to get some idea of the place.
