Being new to family research I would appreciate any information anyone has on Topping family members -

I am also trying to decide which geneology organisations are the best to join and what the advantages / disadvantages the various ones have

Would appreciate tips on this.

Hi Sasthomas,

Well you have made the best possible start of course by joining this site.

As to other sites, well of course it is not this sites policy to promote other sites.

However, you will be able to get practically all the help that you need from this site as many of our members are more that willing to do look-up requests. All you have to do is post a request on the "Request Help" boards and if the information is out there on any of the census returns or BMD's someone will help you.

Hi Sasthomas,

This site should get you started. Once you have found if your ancestors are remaining in a certain County for a long period, it might pay you to join a Family History Society for that area. Also it might pay you to join some mailing lists for your given county. You could also try looking to see if your surname is being researched by a member of the Guild of one-name studies.
