I am trying to find my g grandma's family...the Stemmerman's, I've traced them back to Bermondsey, Surrey but I think the name is actually German??

My g grandma was Minnie Stemmerman b1890 in Leeds, her parents were William Stemmerman b1868 in Leeds & Alice Bedford b1873 in Leeds. William's parents were Frederick Stemmerman b1849 in Newington, Surrey & Mary Stuttley b1853 in Leicester. Frederick b1849's parents were Frederick Stemmerman b1810 in Bermondsey & Mary Gardner b1811 in Bermondsey, Surrey.

I have many more names & dates for this family but I'm interested in finding out where they originate from, when they came to the UK, etc.
