Hi
I too am interested in the Selmes name. Louisa Messetter md Wm Selmes about 1889 in Sussex. They had 7 children one of which was Frances in 1894. Frances went on to have a child in 1923 Phyllis and it is Frances who I am interested in.
I would love to find any relatives that might be in Sussex, Kent or evern New Zealand.
I know what happened to Phyllis, but would love to know what heppened to Frances.
I note on 1901 census Louisa is in the workhouse without Wm b.1868 Mountfield, and am wondering what happened to him and did Louisa remarry.
Would love to hear from you, I have much into too that we culd share.
regards
Gwen

Hiya...sorry I've taken a while to reply...school holidays, etc. I will go through my Selmes info & if I can find any links to any of the names you have both mentioned, I'll pass the info on.
