Hi Maggie, The only things that I have is the 1851 & 1841 Census with Thomas Smith on. He was a brother of Edward my Great Grandfather. 1851 Census Tottington Higher End H107/2249 Folio 404b Middle Dover Tottington Higher End Peter Smith head mar age 62 Farmer of 10 acres born Bury Lancashire Susannah .. wife .. .. 64 Thomas .. son Unm 26 Fulling Miller .. .. ... Charles .. son Unm ..24 Cotton Weaver .. .. .. If you think this is your Thomas .. then I will send the 1841 Census .. just let me know as there are a more syblings. Middle Dover would be over Holcombe Moors a small holding. Thomas Smith in 41 aged 15 was a Wollen Miller (so fulling/wollen ..would they be the same? & miller .. as in work in the mill?) Mattygirl |

Hi Mattygirl,
I wouldn`t think he would be a "fulling miller" whatever that is! in 1851 & a tailor journeyman later. He would have had to be apprenticed to a tailor when he was quite young I would think. So, having said all that, I don`t think this is a match. Thank you anyway, Maggie |

Hi Maggie,
I am not surprised! .. again the names Thomas.. Mary are in my tree, you see my Thomas's parents were Peter Smith & Susannah nee Smith .. its possible her Father was Thomas Smith (that is as far back as I have gone) so we may "meet" again in our research .. who knows. Regards Meryl |
