Default Stanton

Hi, my paternal side of the family are Stanton's. Norfolk born and bred as far back as I can go! Foulsham early on (mid 1800s to early 1900s) then North West Norfolk from then on in.
Arthur, Charles, Philip are a few names that may be helpful. Any info on my family, obviously drop me a line. Cheers.

Default updated Stanton

Cheers for you speedy bit af help Nanna.

Stanton's I know-

philip stanton (1954) married Gail jay(1955)

Derrick Stanton (1926) married June Anderson (1933)

Arthur Stanton (c.1900 ??) married Mabel Sands

Charles Stanton (c.1860 ??) married 'Kizzy'

As you can see my info to the earlier Stanton generations is a lot hazier. I would relly like to know when Arthur was actually born, and Charles. Also, was his wife's real name Kizzy..

Like I said, very hazy indeed. But hey, I'm trying, so I'll get there eventually! My mum, Gail Jay's side of the family were easy. She is part of the Woodget family (Cutty Sark) so I have been able to trace that back to late 1700s, siblings and all. But Stanton's...hmmm
Again, cheers Nanna

Hi Adam,

You have given a lot of info which is what members will be looking for. I have Parish records for Norfolk, but unfortunately they don't cover Foulsham, however I have checked Ancestry.com and found one birth for Arthur(Charles) Stanton b.circa 1901 Sept Quarter 4B 203 Henstead, Norfolk. may be worth your while getting the certificate to find out who his parent's were.

OK, so I now know that:

Arthur Stanton b1901 d1977 married mabel sands b1905 d1965

Arthur had sveral sisters who I am TRYING to find. Keziah 1895 and Emily 1903 were two of them.

Arthur's parents were Charles William Stanton and Emily Louisa Mace b1874.

Whilst I am finding individual records, I have nothing to link them all solidly since only Keziah was born before 1901 census.

I willl keep working on it!

Hi Adam,

If you send for Arthur's birth certificate it will give you a address to work with, maybe one of our member's has a street directory for the area in question for a later date than 1901 which could tell you where his parent's were living then.

Good Luck
