Thread: Pearce, Prout & Paull of St Agnes, Cornwall

Hi, I'm Page the Oracle and I'm looking into the Pearce, Prout, Paull, Sedgman and Trevena families in Cornwall. Johanna Pearce b.1804 married John Paull b.1803, in 1828, both of St Agnes, Cornwall. I have no information about Johanna as to her parentage yet. Any info would be much appreciated.

John Paull b.1803 is the father of the John Paull b.1830 who had Paull's Hotel which was first Pearce's Hotel, then the Commercial Inn and then Paull's Hotel so I was wondering in a huge leap of faith if this Joanna was one of 'those' Pearces who had the hotel in the first place?

Mary JAMES (dau of Peter JAMES & Susanna) chr. 16/11/1734 (Gwennap), later married 19/1/1754 (Gwennap) to John PEARCE - my great(4x)- grandfather.



Henry JAMES (son of Peter JAMES & Susanna) chr. 20/3/1736 (Gwennap), later married 24/3/1764 (St Agnes) to Honor MARSHALL; and their daughter Christian JAMES Chr. 24/5/1779 (St Agnes) married 23/10/1803 (St Agnes) Abraham PROUT.

I have a Dorcas Pearce,bapt 18/5/1783, dr of Henry and Dorcas(nee James).these two married 5/8/1780, St.Hilary. Dorcas Pearce(1783) married Martin Dunn 10/10/1814 at St.Ives. these were found via Online Parish Clerks Project. Well worth a visit.
