Hi I am looking for info on the mellors, - Sam Mellor b.1849 in Rotheram S. Yorks, later Conisbrough S. Yorks his parents were a William Mellor and a Mary Aldred , Sam married an Emma Wood in 1873?

Hi Nanna, and thankyou for your reply and the info on the 1881 census. I did look a while ago on the 1901 census, and I think the name must have been mis-transcribed. I have recently received a marriage cert which seems to fit the bill, but that is for a Samuel Miller! it sometimes makes you wonder about these names, you think you have checked all the ways it could be mis-transcribed then you find another one .

Hi there, and thanks for your reply, you are quite right I have found it transcribed on a site as Miller rather than Mellor.These Mellor's came from southYorks. first Rotheram and then Conisbrough nr Doncaster, but thanks for your reply. one of these days....
