Default Martin family, Ireland

I am researching the tree of the Martin family in Ireland. My great-grandfather was William James Martin (1830-1906). His father was James Martin (d1841) and his father was John Martin.

William James Martin married Ellen Peacon.

James Martin married Mary Shannon (d1847)

John Martin married Anne McDonagh (1757-1847)

Can anybody help go further back than John Martin? Or has anyone any info on this family?

Many thanks

Further to my previous message, I have been told that maybe John Martin came from Galway. Possible a carpenter or painter.
