Hawkface, I'm descended from a Hawkins family. I have my great grandparents as Harry and Ellen Hawkins but Iam not sure if Harry's parents or grandparents were from Mountsorrel. Iam having a lot of difficulty in finding anything out about Harry Hawkins parents.
My great grandparents lived in Oakford in Devon. They had a son, Charlie (my grandad) and a daughter, Phylis. I hope this help a bit. Sally |

Sally,
My ggrandfather had a brother Robert Hawkins, who had a son Henry (Harry). Harry was b. abt 1870 in Mountsorrel. He m. Elizabeth. They had a son William, b. abt 1907. The names are similar but we're still talking abt two different branches of the HAWKINS family. Somewhere there's a connection between Devon and Leicestershire branches. Don |
