Searching for any information regarding a William Holden (b.1820-ish, West Derby) who married a Mary Ann Evans (b.1819-ish), at St Michaels, Walton, Liverpool.
They had a number of children:- Elizabeth Holden b.1840 Ellen Holden b.1842 Anne Holden b.1846 Mary J Holden b.1847 George Holden b.1849 William Holden b.1853 Kate A Holden b.1855 Richard Holden b.1857 I've got a marriage certificate for William and Mary, though it doesn't appear to offer much help. For instance, both their ages are "underage", both were living in "Mann Street", and both their fathers names were "Father dead". William's occupation, where mentioned, was a cabinet maker. Mary Ann's, since 1851, was a Poulterer. The 1841 census, though not very clear, appears to have William & Mary living in Clayton Street (number 23, according to the 1851). The only thing that might've been of use is that the marriage witnesses were a Samuel Holden and Mary Holden. However, in the 1841 census, Samuel and Mary Holden are also living in Clayton St, he too is a Cabinet maker and also 20. |
