Smile HUNT

My husband's family name is Hunt. Researched over last 20 years in Shropshire and Flintshire but now believe that his ancestor Joseph Hunt was born in Derbyshire. He firstly married Hannah Bloore in Shropshire - son James born Norton in Hales in 1830 - this fact is never disputed in all census' until James' death in 1915. Hannah died and then in 1841 I find the family living in Market Drayton. However there is Joseph with son James and 'Esther' and 'Rodeth'.

Purchased certificates - Hannah Hunt (nee Bloore) died 1838. Joseph Hunt married Esther Jannot 1841 - he was a widower.

His father's name was stated as Joseph Hunt.

unfortunately our Joseph died before 1851 census but in 1851 we find Esther has a number of Hunt's living with her in Shropshire and they all say Place of Birth Derbyshire - which if you can follow my ramblings brings me to the premise that our original Joseph Hunt was born in Derbyshire around 1812.

Help please - this has haunted me for years. I employed an English researcher back in 1990 to research my husbands family as a gift to him for our 25th Wedding Anniversay however what I got was a tree back from Joseph that I have now proved incorrect.

Any assistance would be so appreciated.

Thank you, Irene
