I am currently trying to find some information on the Gale family from Rising Sun, Calstock, Cornwall.

I have a Rachel Gale b1876 in Rising Sun, who married Oliver Elford also b1876 in Radstock, Somerset. (Oliver was my Hubby's Great Uncle)

Oliver & Rachel went onto have:
Harry Oliver Elford born c1909 in Bristol.

Rachel's family -

Father: Elijah Gale, who was a Tin Miner
Mother: Maria Luchas

Rachel's siblings - Harry Gale b1874 in Rising Sun, Calstock
Shadrach Gale b1878 in Rising Sun, Calstock
Alice Gale b1872 in Rising Sun, Calstock

Harry & Shadrach died on the Titanic in 1912, when they both travelled second class, back to Idaho Springs in Colorado, where they were to work as miners.

Shadrach & Harry were lost in the sinking, their bodies were never recovered.

I am quickly gathering information on Harry & Shadrach, because of the way they died - I am trying to concentrate more on Rachel & the rest of the family.

Thomas Sanderscock 50 Basket Maker -Blind
Rebecca Sanderscock 56
Elijah son in law
Mariah Daugh
Alice born c 1872
Harry c 1875
Rachel c 1877
Shadrack c 1879
Enoch c1892
Rebecca c 1884
Emily c 1889

However on 1881 Census it lists Elijah & Mariah as Step son & step daughter

Also listed on 1881 is Shadrach age 23 - Step son

soo Rebecca age 56 on '91 census is prob the mother of Elijah and Shadrach...and remarried!!

I had the Sanderscock's (wat a bl**dy name...lol)

....sorry! I found them listed on LDS, on a household entry from 1881.

I've also found Harry's wife (Oliver & Rachel's son), Harry's children & Harry's grandchildren, which take us up to 1978.

I did not have Enoch, Rebecca or Emily though.....
