Anyone else researc hing Grant? My gt grandfather George Nelson Grant born 1841 St Cuthberts Edinburgh, his mother Euphemia Nelson or Neilson, father John Grant
At some stage date unknown, George settled in Derby, where he married first Mary Plews Street, after she died, he then married Mary Hannah Copeland.

In 1881 George & his wife plus my gran dmother were in Perth Scotland, at that time, one of his sons was in an Industrial School in Perth. I then lost track of him until tracing his death in 1919 in Leicestr, where his wife`s brother was living (William Francis Copeland)

By 1891 George had acquired another wife Annie ?, but no marriage can be traced, he was then living in London, also in 1901 still in London.
It is not known as yet what happened to Mary Hannah, cannot trace her death.
my grandmother was sent to Canada as an orphan in 1889, she later confessed to the authorities there, that she was NOT an orphan, and that her father was then living in Birmingham, this would be about 1900.

I would love to know more about his family the Grants of Edinburgh, but have been unable so far to trace very much about them, there was another son named John Peter born in 1844, but I know nothing more about him.

If anyone else is researching the Grants and have any links or knowledge of the above, I would love to hear from them.
