Please could someone help me? I'm not doing very well!!!

I'm looking for my Granger ancestors. But I can only go back 2 generations. I do know quite about them but can't find the next step.

Gerald Amos James GRANGER-b 28/03/1925 in March, Cambs. Married Ada Louisa MUFFETT (b 06/12/1926) on 21/09/1946 in Ramsey, Hunts. He died 05/12/1998 in Huntingdon, Cambs. She is my only surviving grandparent.

James Henry GRANGER (Gerald's father)-b 25/02/1903 in March, Cambs. Married Ada PORTWOOD (b 02/05/1903) on 14/04/1924 in March, Cambs. He died 10/02/1977 in Chatteris, Cambs. She died 17/01/1981 in Chatteris, Cambs.

I can't find James' parents anywhere!! Any help??

Hi Dawn,

Found the following on 1837online:

James Henry Granger June Qtr 1903 N.Witchford (3B 525) an area in Cambridgeshire, nr to Ely.

The certificate will give you the parent's name's. You can apply for this at http://www.gro.gov.uk

Thanks Nanna. (You have been busy!!) Was hoping to find James' parents without resorting to certificate buying but am hitting brick walls everywhere I go. Will have to shell out (Boo)!!

But at least I know where to look!
