Default Grigson

Okay, this isn't part of my blood family tree but it's someone who was obviously special ...

My great auntie Tryphena Williams born Oystermouth 1879 became a nanny in the late 20's/early 30's to a little girl called "Fifi" Grigson in either Tonbridge or Tunbridge Kent.

Thye were very close as Fifi came down to Try's home in Wales a lot. We have a number of photos showing Fifi down in Oystermouth with Tryphena and her siblings - Dad remembers meeting her a number of times.

When war came Fifi joined the Land Army and was in charge of the chickens on Major Cazalot's estate - so Dad remembers. Cazalot was the Queen's racehorse trainer - I googled him but not much info. Anyhow Tryphena came to live with Fifi in a cottage on the estate and lived there for a number of years until she got ill and moved to nursing home where she died.

It would be amazing if Fifi was still alive so I could give her copies of these photos and maybe her and Dad could meet and talk.

Alas I don't know her real name - she was known to all as Fifi. I do have a photo of the cottage they lived in but my scanner is down at the moment.

Thanks for reading!! I love these stories from the past.

:-)
