Thread: Fordham surname

Hi
One name that I am researching is the surname FORDHAM, from the Suffolk area (Polstead/Hadleigh/Boxford areas) and from Essex too. (Tendring area - that covers -Manningtree thru to Harwich - inc Mistley, Lawford, Dovercourt).

Not just one branch of the FORDHAM name - but 2.
Not only was my maternal grandmother's maiden name was FORDHAM, she married another FORDHAM - my maternal Grandfather, not proved to be related - yet.

The church actually checked before they married in 1936, to see how close the families were. Nothing close found then either.

No wonder I get confused when I speak to people about the FORDHAM'S.
