I am researching the FERRIS family from the FEOCK area of Cornwall.

Hi,
I am a member of the Cornish Ferris Clan, but unfortunately have little knowledge of my exact roots.
My family originate from St Mawes in Cornwall. My father was Harold Raymond Ferris,My Grandfather was William Fredrick Ferris, My Great Grandfather was Charles Ferris and I believe my Great, Great Grandfather was William (foreman) Ferris, the chap who built the boats.
I understand that it was William who came from Feoke in Cornwall.
A few years ago I made a "pilgrimage" to St Mawes and found the Ferris cottage by the harbour, I knocked on the door and was warmly greeted by Les and Vi Ferris, who looked me up and down and and enquired "so which Ferris are you"?

The name Ferris seems to be very common in Cornwall, but perhaps there may be some connection ?

Hello Cousin !

My Gt.Gt.Gt.Gt.Grandfather is the brother of William (foreman) Ferris !

I have quite abit of information about the family so if you want to contact me away from the boards then I would be more than happy to share it with you.

My side of the family were all from Feock until my Gt.Gt.Grandfather moved to Charlestown, then my Gt.Grandfather ran away to join the Navy at the age of 15. My Grandad was then brought up in Plymouth, as was my Dad. My Dad then moved to London when he was 18 (he is still here!) as are myself and 2 brothers.

I have been tracing the Ferris family for 18 months now and have made contact with some other family members.
