Hiya Davidii

I'm new so please forgive me if I've replied wrongly to this??

I have some Eldridges listed in my tree from the areas you mentioned. They are linked to the Selmes/Elfords etc., from that area.

Hiya again Davidii

The Eldridges I have listed are:

Elizabeth Ann Eldridge born 1878 in Warford, Herts.
She married Frederick Seymour born 1876 in Writhlington, Somerset.
Fred's occupation was a Labourer on the Railway.
They had a son - Henry Charles Seymour born 1900 in Cadoxton, Barry, Glamorgan, WALES

Lily Eldridge born 1873 in Battle, East Sussex.
She married Charles Richard Carter born 1870 in Battle, East Sussex.
Charles' occupation was a Confectioners Warehouseman.

I think I also have a couple more in notepad form, I'll have a dig through my files & see what I can find.

Kind regards

Helen.....
Searching: Horstead, Richardson, Stemmerman, Culloden, Walker, Elford, Broadhead, Lightowler.

Hi Helen

I can't yet trace any connection with the names you have given me.

I believe your Elizabeth Ann 1878 was dau of James Eldridge & Maria
( possibly Maria Kiff - married 1875 St Albans)

Have you visited the website shown below?

http://users.hunterlink.net.au/~ddrg.../families.html

This is by Robert Eldridge who is carrying out a one name study of Eldridge families
worldwide.
This may assist as he has many families from Battle Sussex

I have also contributed some of my Eldridge tree to his website
( George Eldridge of Upwaltham Sussex )

Regards

david

Davidii,

Thanks for that, I didn't know about the website. Although I should have done....... The Elfords are listed on the One Name Studies!

I will have a look & see what I can turn up.

Thanks again, regards,

Helen.....

Thanks Star

My Eldridges were located....

1750 - at East Lavant
1770 - at Duncton & Graffham
1850 onwards had mostly moved to Brighton ( presumably to find work )
