Help needed to trace my 4xGtGrandfather, Steven Coole. I cannot get back any further than his marriage to Ann Newman in 1782, at Rockbourne, Hants.

Hi Rose,

I have the LDS for Hampshire on microfiche. Stephen's marriage is there but not a birth or baptism. This could mean several things, he could have been born outside Hampshire, his baptism may not have been recorded or the records lost or damaged. Or as I have found with quite a few of mine, was baptised in a church that wouldn't allow the LDS to view their records. I have some other records which I'll check tomorrow.

Thanks Starlight. I had`nt thought that perhaps he was not baptised.
I have thought of the possibility that he came from outside Hampshire, there were several Stephen Coole`s around . Rose.
