Hi Anne
My husband John has connections with the Capewells from that area - in fact his middle name is Capewell named after his granny. I am trying to research this side of the family but cannot get very far back. Would be interested if this is the same family. |

Hi,
What info do you have already? I have stuff going back to 1600s but it is not all my research so depending on where your info leads I may redirect you to another contact. My direct line is: David born circa 1630 m Elizabeth David born circa 1659 m 1. Catherine 2. Margaret Wetton 1683 3. Mary Hunt 1709 5th child was James b. 1723 James m Elizabeth Betts 1749 their children were: Mary 1749 Elizabeth 1751 James 1754 John 1758 John m Hannah Houlford 2nd child William born 1786 William m. 1. Ann Bentley1810 2. Mary Fisher first child was Henry 1813 Henry m Sarah Capewell 1838 their children were Thomas 1838 George b 1841 Mary b 1843 Charles b 1847 Hannah b 1848 Sarah b 1850 William b. 1853 Hannah had illegitimate child William b 1873 who seems to have been brought up by Uncle William b 1853 (above). William b 1873 married Sarah Pritchard and had Samuel b 1905 who was my grandfather. Look forward to hearing from you. best wishes, Anne |

Hi Anne
I have a feeling your family and ours may be different. My husband's grandmother was Alice May Capewell born about 1885 and she married a William Harper. I have found one Alice May Capewell on the 1891 and 1901 census born in Milwich, but with no clues to who her parents were, so can go no further back. She is a boarder on one census and a niece on the second. My husband says he can recall her mentioning that she lived at Fradswell and she died in 1962. This is all the info I have got, so don't know whether you can help. Best Wishes Linda |

Hi Linda,
Looks like we are not connected at this generation - although we may be further back. It would help you if you could order Alice's birth cert - you would then know who the parents were and may be able to trace back further. You could also try contacting two other researchers who have done a lot more than me - philip.hunt2@ntlworld.com capewell10@aol.com Let me know if you find anything or if you have any more questions Cheers, Anne |

Hi Elizabeth,
Always great to hear from other researchers. Have you been in contact with anyone else? Both of the contacts I listed before have done loads of research and are where I have most of mine from. But do let me know if you need any help. cheers, Anne |

Hi Heather,
My gx7 grandfather was David married to Elizabeth but he was born 1630. Your best bet is to try and get hold of Phil Hunt at philip.hunt2@ntlworld.com as he has done much more research than me. My line is one of the postings on this list - I think that you may descend through David b1630, David b1658 and his marriage to Catherine then David b1680 as I think that he married an Elizabeth. hope this helps, cheers, Anne |
