Hello, My 1 brickwall is Maria Butler c 1870 Woolwich and brother Charles Butler c 1867 Woolwich.
At first glance they appear to be on teh 1871 census but that is not my Maria as she turns up on a later census with her parents but under her married name.
My Maria Butler and brother Charles were in the Metropolitan district school in 1881 census. THe registers just give each other as their nearest living relation and both are said to be illegitimate. I do have the admission and discharge dates but not at hand. Maria married William Pearson in 1890 and gives her fathers name as William Pearson. I am at a complete loss of how to find anything further on this lady.
