Thread: Parish Records Look Up for Roberts

I am wondering if anyone could help me with a query I have for parish records , I have looked on FM Past and freereg and cannot see anything for my 3 X G Grandmother a Hannah Roberts B abt 1805 and she always says Sedgley on census details the only one I have found is quite a long way a way in Stoke ;;;Many thanks in advance for even reading this

Isnt Soke on Trent a far distance from Dudley though pejay ??? I found that one on freereg but wasnt sure of the distance from one to the other ;;;

Her married name was Johnson and she died 15 Oct 1897 Dudley

Your gt grandmother shows her year of birth on the census as between 1805 - 1811 Sedgeley / Princes End (same place)

Her marriage is 05/12/1831 All Saints West Bromwich to James JOHNSON, nearest baptism for a person of her name I can find is at Tipton

Several of the children were baptised at this church so may be a look at the Parish registers is needed or obtaining a copy of the original transcript

Look at the IGI on the old site of familysearch.org, you will find the blue link on the LHS, the records may not all have been scanned!

Note for other users maps.Google.co.uk is a useful site to find places and distances!

Hazelnut thanks for that , I will have to see if I can buy the records for Tipton then as I contacted Staffs Archives and its £25 hour for search so might as well buy the disc if there is one ,,,
I have there wedding and her death cert it was just proof of her baptism for better DOB and possible parents

Oh Right cheers dear will do the centres not far from me so will have tro get the file number is it , i have never been to the LDS centre so this is new for me lol
