Thread: Taunton look up

Hi,

I am looking for the birth records for a JOSEPH HANCOCK and ELIZA CRIDDLE both born circa 1813 in Taunton according to the censuses.

I have found their marriage in Feb 1837 in St Mary Magdalene Taunton, But I keep drawing blank on their births.

I have the Marriage certificate for JOSEPHS 2nd marriage in 1880 which states his father as a JOHN HANCOCK, Occupation being a weaver.

Can anyone help me?

You do not say if you have found the father Joseph senior on the early years census returns, I appreciate his children may not be with him, but it would give a timeframe!

I would suggest you obtain a copy of the original Parish register entry to see if any 'local' notes have been made this can either be through your local LDS centre, see Library or through the Somerset Heritage Office ( prev RO ) www1.somerset.gov.uk/archives/
