I dont know where abouts in scotland.

I have no clue whatsoever all i know is that on the 1841 census it says scotland so im really stuffed as the surname knox is a very popular one in scotland lol

There are lots of Knox in Scotland. I just found 3,656 from 1800 going back to 1611.....and they are all over Scotland but mostly Lowlands i.e. Edinburgh, Glasgow Borders and some on Tayside as well.......... lol

You could at least give us a little more than the surname Knox.... like for instance....the 1841 Census gives a first name.....and an age....because here in Scotland we pride ourselves on Parish records and indeed our certificates in as much as they give us more information than the rest of the UK.



You never know we might surprise you!!! lol

His name is John Knox born scotland around 1800, he married in York to a woman named ann richmond they went and had a few children lol 2 of which were born in York and the rest in Hampshire.

But really all i know is that he was called john knox and was born 1800 in scotland he died in 1850 in newport hampshire do you think i will find any info on him from his death cert?
