Thread: Galloway

Hi,

I am trying to find some information on my great grandfather. His name was David McWaters Galloway and he was born on September 30 1891 in Hawick, Roxburgh Scotland to a David Galloway and Sarah McWaters Stainton Galloway.

He later moved to Canada in 1912 where he lived the rest of his life.

Any information would be a great help.

I had a quick look and at the moment all I can find is a David Galloway age 10, on the 1901 census . He is at Wilton, Hawick Roxburghshire at 3 Princes St .
He was a scholar and there is Nellie Stenton? 21
John Galloway 11 DAVID GALLOWAY10, Maggie Gallow 6 and William MCWater 25.
It gives no further information.
There is also a John Galloway birth 13 Feb 1891 Oruba, at sea on family search site together with David's birth and parentage which you already have.
Maybe they were cousins?

I know it is a long shot, but I have a Mary Caroline Galloway in my tree, she married Charles Lowther 16 Nov 1845 in Hull, Yorkshire. I have no parents for her.
