Smile confused

Hi i am wondering if you can help me, as you have done in the past (and i thank you). I have just received my grandmother's b cert it only has her mother's name on (mary jane jamieson formerly bell), fathers name not on but later married mary, grandmothers name is Alice Smith Jamieson b 10/4/1906 father (george smith) married mary 1918 which was a long time after grandmother was born, is it possible you will be able to share any light on her parents (my grandmother) and look on 1901 census for any information. Once again i thank you for your help and the brilliant work u do. Grandmother born tynemouth, address was 30 collingwood st, north shields.

Hi Sharron ,
It sounds like Mary Jane was previously married.
Do you have a copy of the 1918 marriage cert. This should say if she was a widow or spinster at the time of her marriage to George Smith. It may also give her age.
Jane.

The marriage cert may also give her age and her fathers name and occupation so it may be easier to find her in the census.
