Default 2001 census

Can anyone tell me where/how I can view the 2001 census. I am stuck on trying to find details on my Grandad. My Grandma's side I am having no problems at all but I think he was adopted along with his sister so i'm trying to find out anything I can about where he lived and also what he did/lived after my grandma left him (approx 50 years ago)

Can anyone help please?

Thank you

I have his full name, date of birth, date of death, marriage and death certificate and am at present trying to get his birth certificate however I think he was adopted so I don't think his certificate will be released.

I am completely stumped with him, I have no idea who his parents are, I have just found out he has/had a sister but I have no idea who she is, I figured if I can search the 2001 census I may be able to find out something about his

Hi Lynette

His father should be named on his marriage certificate...unless of course he was illigitimate

Have you searched the GRO with the information that you have for a birth?

I'm hazarding a guess he was born before 1935ish, so he would probably not show up on freebmd.

As you have his death certificate.....do you know who informant was? Did he die at home....so then you could search back on electoral rolls

If you feel that you can't post his details on a public Forum...maybe you could send details via PM to Starlight, myself or one of the other moderators to see if we can help further

Good Luck with your research

Hi Lynette

If no father is listed on his marriage cert then chances are he was born illigitimate but thats not unusual at all.

All his details will enable people to search further for you...but as I said if you feel that you dont want them posted on a public forum then PM to someone to help you.

Good Luck with your research an let us now how you get on

We think he may have been adopted, along with his sister (who until yesterday I had no idea existed - my sister told me)

I don't mind posting his information if you think anyone can help?
