  1. Hi Slizzy
    1. following my last post have just seen your message. Yes it is Robert and John who were the Brothers of my Gran Clara. Her Father was Robert George Schultz. Her Brother as far as I am aware was only listed as Robert c. 1868. Any info you dig up would be much appreciated. Thanks Rastus

Hi Rastus,

Could this be Robert's birth? I cannot find a Robert Schultz even using spelling variations, and wondered if he was George Robert known as Robert. The area and year are right and considering his father was Robert George!! May be you've already pursued this 'find'?

I'll keep looking .......... do you have the family on the 1871 census, and Julia and Robert's marriage details......if not I can post them.

George Robert Schultz Year of Registration: 1868 Quarter of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar District: Bethnal Green County: Greater London, London, Middlesex Volume: 1c Page: 249

Hi Slizzy, You could well be right and that both Robert and John dropped their first names of George and what I believe could be Alfred respectively. An Alfred John is shown born Sept Qtr 1874 Whitechapel 1c 348. My Father was an Alfred so could have had the name from his Mothers side but also from his Dads Brother!!
Might well be a good idea for me to get the two Certificates from the GRO.
For interest Robert George Schultz the Father was born 1840 4th Qtr St. Geoe East 11 75. Scotsheat did some looking up for me a while back and came up with the 1871 Census showing Julia with Clara, Robert and Ellen. Ellen died that year. Apparently Julia was shown as Head W, which presumed a Widow so John could not be a son of Robert George although still taking the name Shultz from his Mother !!
Regards, Rastus

Hi Rastus,

Could this be Robert seniors death record with a misspelling? It seems about the right time.

Robert George Schulte Estimated Birth Year: abt 1842 Year of Registration: 1870 Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun Age at Death: 28 District: Whitechapel County: London, Middlesex Volume: 1c Page: 245

Slizzy, You are a darling, seems as though this could be the break I want. One way to find out for sure is to get a Cert from GRO. On this basis of 1870 which would be about right then he could not be Johns Father.
Kind Regards,
Rastus

Good luck with the cert Rastus

I've found a couple of possible deaths for Robert junior, but not all details are exact. Could do with finding him on the 1901.
