Default William Bradshaw but really Wood!

Hi all, hope someone can help please

I have Abigail Holt Bradshaw 1847 Wigan lancashire (no problems with her)
Her father on the census and on her marriage cert is William Bradshaw mother Abigail Holt Cooper.
All her siblings birth certs confirm the parents as Bradshaws.

I now have the marriage cert of the parents William Bradshaw and Abigail and he turns out to be William Wood. How do I go about chasing him up and finding his real parents? This is the marriage from Lancs OPC..

Marriage: 1 Nov 1840 St Wilfrids, Standish, Lancashire, England
William Wood - Full Miller Bachelor of Coppull
Abigail H. Cooper - (X), Full Servant Spinster of Coppull
Groom's Father: James Bradshaw
Bride's Father: Robert Cooper, Sailmaker?
Witness: Richard Bradshaw; James Darbyshire

Hope you understand my ramblings

Hi Light,

I would guess ......... either his middle name was Wood (maybe mmn) and the scribe missed writing Bradshaw after Wood, or he was born before his parents were married. Have you been unable to find a William Wood, or William Bradshaw birth?

Hi again,

You've probably gone this route? At marriage father's name James Bradshaw, a witness Richard Bradshaw.

I851 census. James born Standish.

Name: Richard Bradshaw Age: 31 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1820 Relation: Son Father's Name: James Mother's Name: Alice Gender: Male Where born: Pemberton, Lancashire, England

Civil Parish: Wigan County/Island: Lancashire Country: England
William Ashurst 2 Alice Bradshaw 63 Elizabeth Bradshaw 21 James Bradshaw 62 Richard Bradshaw 31 Rodger Bradshaw 26 John Mitchinson 1 Mo

An igi submitted record.

Marriage 14 Nov 1814, Leigh Lancs. James Bradshaw to Alice WOOD.

If this record is reliable? and your William was born pre 1814 he could be Alice's illegitimate son, or James and Alice's son born before their marriage. Sorry I can't be more help Light

I didnt see the marriage on the IGI and havent looked since last year. I gave up! At least now I have something so I will try and verify the marriage and see what comes of it.

Thanks
