I hope someone can help me.
I have found a record that I assume is of the death of my as James MacBeth. The date is 09/09/1864 in Perth Sheriff's Court. The numbers below are (I guess the record #) SC 49/31/78. The sight says it is 5lbs to view. ( Sorry but my American keyboard does not have the key for the lbs sign.) Does anyone know if this is perhaps a Will? And how do I convert my money into lbs to pay for something like that? And does anyone use Scotlands people.com? We are doing a Genealogy class where I live and I have included this sight as one of my Favorites. Thanks, Dixie Daisy |

Oh Starlight, thanks so very much!
With what you told me I now have the names of his parents. There were several possibilities for his parents and I wasn't sure how to figure out just which one it was. Ya'll have such great records ,I just don't know how to find them. The scotlands people site says it's 5 sterlings to view the will. I know this makes me sounds dumb ,but is that alot ? Thanks again.Dixie Daisy |

Starlight, just wanted to tell you I figured out how to use and pay for viewing the Will on SP. I was wondering about the info you posted above. It says the parents of James Macbeth were Barbara Cameron & Charles Macbeth. Was that from an obit? I found no mention of his parents names in his will. Thanks ,Dixie Daisy
