Hello
I am trying to find out what happened to the children of Gladys Aylward. Their names are Sixpence and Less and both were born in China either just before or during the Second World War. Can anyone help? Thanks Peggy ![]() |

There is quite a bit on the net about missionary Gladys and the children she rescued and took across the mountains of China which you probably already know about. I have a photo of her because my mother knew her when she was a young woman in London. When she returned from China for a while she visited us in Berkshire. The film made about her she was very angry about, I remember. Much of it was artistic licence. One of her lectures was recorded and is on the net if I can find it again, but I must admit to not knowing what happened to Sixpence and Less or any of the other children. I have a feeling that they went to America but that is only from listening to my mother talking in the 1950's. There are many times when I wish I had listened a bit more closely, and this is one of them. Send me a PM if you think I can help further. Regards Victoria |
